Teaching Philosophy

My goal as a teacher is that my students and I have the opportunity engage, both independently and as a community, with the puzzles and challenges of intellectual inquiry that lead us to be better writers and thinkers. In every class I work to facilitate an environment of shared learning in which students and teacher productively struggle with the implications of interdisciplinary study through both classroom dynamics and the investigation of course material in the context of social justice. Like teaching itself, this approach is elusive if framed as a goal, but extremely rewarding when framed as a process.
